Design possibilities

Imagine
what opens up.

A generous view. A more connected home. An opening more people can use with ease. Explore real VOLTA projects, then bring your own architectural ambition into focus.

Keep the ambition

Keep the glass.
Keep the ambition.

A generous opening. More substantial glazing. A quieter room. These are good reasons to ask more of a sliding door.

Thicker glass can add panel weight; seals selected for thermal, acoustic and weather performance can add resistance. VOLTA brings power assistance to that equation, helping a compatible door retain its architectural scale while becoming easier to use.

Keep the glazing and sealing requirements in the brief. Then resolve the complete door around them: frame, rollers, assistance and operating effort together.

Early coordination matters. Panel mass alone does not determine suitability; geometry, seals, track, threshold, frame cavities, power and interface all affect the approved configuration.

What VOLTA protects

More freedom.
In the details that matter.

The opening should belong to the architecture and the people using it. Resolve the visible details and the movement together.

01

Your frame. Your finish.

Choose a compatible door system with your fabricator. Integrating VOLTA into that system preserves a coordinated approach to glazing, materials and sightlines.

02

A handle that belongs

The discreet VOLTA handle or selected architectural pulls can bring the assistance to life. Optional app and voice interfaces offer other ways to control the opening.

03

A clearer passage

Suitable flat or low thresholds can make movement between spaces easier. Resolve the complete threshold for access, drainage and weather exposure.

04

Space to disappear

Explore selected pocket and cavity systems where a panel can clear the opening. Allow for the roller envelope, controls, power and future service access.

Reduced operating effort can support independence and accessible-housing or SDA objectives. Suitability is assessed for the complete installed opening.

Host-system maximum sizes and weights are not automatically VOLTA-assisted limits. Confirm panel geometry, mass, seals, sill, controls and power provisions for the selected configuration.

Discuss a system specification

Put movement in the brief

Specify how the door should feel—not only how it should look.

A panel-weight allowance is not an operating-performance specification. Define the outcome at concept stage so door, hardware and assistance are engineered together.

01

Mass and geometry

Panel dimensions, glazing, centre of gravity and configuration.

02

Movement target

Complete-door breakaway and running-force objective, including intended users.

03

Acoustic intent

Expected sound quality in bedrooms, living, hospitality or care settings.

04

Environment and duty

Weather exposure, corrosion category, contamination and daily cycles.

05

Access and resilience

Threshold, charging, manual fallback, service access and accessibility.

06

Responsibility

Door supplier, trained fabricator and commissioning pathway before tender.

Coordinate these items

Resolve VOLTA before tender ambiguity arrives.

  • Door-system brand and exact series
  • Panel dimensions, mass and glazing build-up
  • XO, XXO, OXXO, OXXXO or proposed configuration
  • Threshold, track, drainage and seal geometry
  • Charging position, accessible power supply and discreet cable route
  • Slimline or architectural handle, locking hardware and control interface
  • Manual-operation and accessibility requirements
  • Fabricator capability, training and service responsibility

Specify with confidence
