Choosing door movement

Power assistance.
Automatic opening.
A useful distinction.

Both use a motor. What matters is how the person uses the door, where the hardware fits, and how the whole opening is delivered.

VOLTA’s core experience is concealed power assistance: you guide the movement through the handle and release to stop.

The short answer

Power steering for your sliding door.

VOLTA is a powered roller system by CiiLOCK Engineering, built into a compatible sliding door by its fabricator. It reduces the effort of moving a heavy panel while keeping the familiar act of opening a door.

In the handle-controlled configuration, you choose the direction and position. There is no need to complete a preset opening cycle. Other controls, including membrane switches and optional app or voice integration, can be considered for the project.

Movement The person supplies the moving force. The person guides the door; the powered roller assists. An input triggers powered travel according to the selected controls.
Typical control A conventional handle. Push or pull the control handle; release to stop assistance. Buttons, sensors, remotes or connected controls, depending on the product.
Integration Rollers selected for the panel and track. Concealed in the bottom rail during fabrication of a compatible door. Operator position and visibility depend on the design; some are retrofit systems.
A good starting point A door that is comfortable to operate without assistance. A large architectural door where lighter effort, clean sightlines and direct control matter. A project needing a specified hands-free or automatic operating sequence.

Where VOLTA belongs

Start with the opening you want.

When is VOLTA worth considering?

Consider VOLTA early in a new door project where a large or heavy sliding panel needs to feel easier to use without a conspicuous operator. It is relevant to architectural homes and selected education, care and accessible-design projects, subject to complete-system review.

Is VOLTA an aftermarket kit?

VOLTA is a manufacturer-integrated solution. The roller and associated components are built into the door during fabrication. Some existing doors can be assessed for modification, but this may require removal and rework and is not a universal retrofit option.

Does powered assistance make a door accessible?

Lower operating effort can help, but accessibility depends on the whole installed opening: clear width, threshold, controls, operating force and the requirements that apply locally. Specify and verify the complete door for the project.

What if a good manual roller is enough?

Start with good mechanical design. If the finished door is already comfortable for the intended users, manual rollers may meet the brief. VOLTA adds assistance where that lighter touch brings a useful everyday benefit.
